Completly renewed Selver supermarket chain’s store Kadaka Selver introduced the first self-shopping solution which makes shopping fast, easy and convenient. The modern Datalogic’s ShopEvolution self-shopping and IBM’s CHEC “self-payment“ solution was supplied and installed by Estonian company Nixor EE which develops and provides IT and security technology solutions for retail and hospitality companies.
Reopened Kadaka Selver went through a major reconstruction and during this was renewed the shop interior concept, design and also the service processes. Selver is the first Estonian retailer who offers self-shopping services SelveEkspress which makes everyday shopping fast and convenient. This service is available to Selver’s loyalty card ´´Partnerkaart´´ owners who have registered themselves before at the information desk as a SelveEkspress service user. Customers will be able to use one of the 99 Datalogic Joya terminals which allows customers to register their products themselves directly during the shopping. The purchases can be payed either at the self-payment kiosk or at the regular check-out register.
Goods are now purchased between the isles!
Self-shopping solution’s purpose is to provide the customer a comfortable and fast shopping experience. During the shopping customers have the possibility to insert the products, that were scanned with Joya-terminal, directly into a shopping bag that is in the basket or shopping cart. Thanks to this there is no need to lift them on to the belt at the cash register lane and from the belt back to the shopping bag.
In case of card payment the Self-Payment solution provides the customer the possibility to pay without any intervention by the cashier. After the self scanning of goods it is quick and easy to use the Self-Payment solution. The multilingual and interactively guided Self-Payment system is the fastest way to finish the shopping.
In SelveEkspress solution project frame Nixor EE implemented and delivered several new innovative solutions which were integrated to the Selver sales and POS solution OSCAR.
In cooperation with the world leading bar code and mobile scanner terminal technology manufacturer Datalogic the ShopEvolution solution was personalized and implemented together with JOYA self-shopping mobile scanner terminals. After scanning the product bar code the terminal displays the product’s name and price. In addition it is possible to show a list of goods in the basket and the total amount. This provides the customer to gain a fast and simple overview of products in the shopping basket and follow the shopping budget.
IIn the development of the Self-Payment solution Nixor EE used the world’s leading hardware and software manufacturer IBM’s CHEC Self-Service solution and world’s most widely used Self-Service terminal IBM AnyPlace Kiosk. The Self-Payment solution has been exactly customized for the needs of the SelveEkspress service to provide the customer the possibility to perform a convenient and fast transaction.
To ensure security of SelveEkspress service the ShopEvolution and CHEC have several built in logical control mechanisms which are are integrated into existing systems. Customer Services Representatives who assist the customers during the self-payment process by using mobile terminals will preform also the age control for age-related goods.
In cooperation with Selver and other retail customers Nixor has developed the retail IT sector in order to make shopping easier, faster and change retail businesses to be more efficient. SelveEkspress is once again a good example to our customers readiness to try a novel and innovative solution.
